Update on coming construction at Magnolia Manor Park

Plans are moving ahead to open up the section between the park along 28th W and the P-Patch on the south side of the park.

As soon as the detailed final plans are approved by the Parks Department they will be posted here.  The goal is to have the work completed by fall 2015.

The Parks Department has completed a detailed survey of the area with all underground water, sewer, and power lines mapped.  In addition to removing the fences blocking access across this portion of the park, there will be a path connecting the two areas and removal of overgrown areas along the north edge.

Missing Piece funding approved!

Seattle City Council approved unanimously the recommendations of the Opportunity Fund Oversight Committee, which included money for Magnolia Manor Park.  The project will re-position the fences on the east side of the reservoir to connect the OLA and the P-Patch.  It also renovates the plaza area north of the dog park as envisioned in the original plan developed by the community in 2011.  The next steps are for Seattle Parks Department to solicit community input on the design and development of the area, probably with one or more public meetings.

Saturday the 11th is May Work Party Day for the OLA

Just a reminder that our May Work Party will be Saturday May 11th from 10 am to Noon. Work is in the Magnolia Manor Off Leash Area, at 3500 28th Avenue West. John Bausch and Dan Reisinger are our volunteer Team Leaders for the morning.  We’ll be concentrating on sweeping the walkway, moving chips and raking gravel, so please bring your work gloves!  Refreshments, as always, are supplied by Citizens for Off Leash Areas.  Please don’t forget to sign in.  Thanks for all  your help!
